From North Americas foremost baby and childcare experts, the newest addition to the bestselling Sears Parenting Librarythe new breastfeeding bible for nursing mothers. In recent years there has been a resurgence of interest in breastfeeding. Yet first-time mothers often lack the support and the knowledge they need. Many of the available books fail to address the practical challenges that confront many women (especially women who work outside the home) when they choose to breastfeed. For these women, The Breastfeeding Book is a godsendwith comprehensive, reassuring, authoritative information on: how to get started, increasing your milk supply, breastfeeding in absentia, and making sure that your nursing baby gets the nutrition he/she needs. Taking a realistic, contemporary approach, the Searses bring an age-old practice completely up to date.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Breast is best
I love all of Dr. Sears books and this one is no different. Reading and understanding is important if you want to breastfeed. There really is so much joy and pride for giving your baby the best only you can give him/her. This book really helps you understand the basics, benefits, different feeding positions, reasons to breastfeed and continue to breastfeed among many other things.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Get The Baby Book instead
After buying this book, I learned a little secret about the Sears' line of books. If you start buying the entire collection, you will find a lot of crossover material! This book on its own is a good resource. There is nothing wrong with it. HOWEVER, I HIGHLY recommend getting Sears' The Baby Book instead. You will find almost everything you need about breastfeeding within this book PLUS a lot of other useful information about baby's first year. In my opinion, it is a much better investment. ... Rating: out of 5 stars - Breastfeeding Book
Shipping on this book was a little expensive. A $5 book cost $4 to ship.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Alright
This book has some REALLY good info on why breastfeeding is best. However, if you don't subscribe to the author's way of parenting (attachment parenting) than you're better off reading another breastfeedng book that is soley about breastfeeding and not about pushing a way of parenting on to you that you may or may not agree with. Especially if you do plan on returning to work.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Must Have
I started reading this book during my nursing sessions shortly after the baby was born. It was SUPER helpful and I still refer to it often (my daughter is almost 3 months now). The book is easy to read and is well organized - you can quickly flip to the chapter/section you need. This book really helped me.
