When you need worms for fishing, Grandpa knows just where to look. Grandpas are great at making things, like bookshelves, burgers, and funny faces. Some grandpas like to sing old songs, some like to play baseball, and all grandpas make you feel special. Young children and grandpas alike will love this sweet tribute to the special love between them.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Great Grandparent book
My son loves the two Lift-the-flap Puffin books he has (this one and "Fathers are for...")! The flaps are very durable and it is nice that the flaps are in unusual shapes and what is underneath is integrated into the story. When we gave my son the books, at 18months (father's day presents) he would not put them down, just "read" them over and over again. We even ended up buying an extra book to give grandpa so he could read it to him on the phone (we have a long distance family). The only thing ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Sweet View of Grandpas to Share with Kids
This book is a sweet book about things that grandpas do for and with their grandkids. Some of the things grandpas do are active and non-traditional.

The kids/grandpas are from different ethnic backgrounds, as another reviewer mentioned, and they are different ages. Both really make the book very contemporary and, I find, easy to relate to.

The other important thing is that the book is very sturdy. My kids read this everyday. They are now 15 months and have had it for a few ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Poor Illustrations
The story was solid, but why would the publisher or author have chosen Jennifer Plecas as an illustrator? Her illustrations are fuzzy, and weak. They do not add to the story and my children weren't engaged looking at them as we were reading. I would really like to have seen an artist with more talent illustrate the book. It is a shame the story was diminished because of the lousy artwork.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Grandpas Are for Finding Worms
A terrific little book for kids about grandpas & all the fun things they can do together. It is delightfully illustrated with grandpas and children of different ethnic backgrounds throughout the book. It has "large" lift-the-flap pages with lots of colorful illustrations there too. This book is very well constructed & durable, which was important to me being a paperback with flaps to lift by little & sometimes not so gentle hands. My two and a half year old granddaughter loves ... Read More
